  5. Thanks for your blog post! Very informative. :) I'm an incoming BS Biology student at DLSUD, and planning (wishing, actually) to take Medicine but our financial capability is a hindrance to it. Hehe. Thankfully there are lots of scholarships offered by DLSHSI!!! Just want to ask, is becoming a scholar (specifically a Financial Scholar) a hard one? What I mean is, does DLSHSI accept only a little number of scholarship applicants? It would be nice if you can give me a percentage of the applicants and the accepted ones. :) And one last - is Financial Scholarship for 2nd to 4th yr med students only? Not for first years? Sorry for too much demands hehe. Badly want to become a doctor. :(

    1. Hi! Im so sorry for the late reply, busy with duty. :) DLSHSI is very very very generous with their scholarships. If you graduated with honors in your undergrad, you are automatically approved for an academic scholarship once you apply for it. The financial scholarship is a bit competitive since a lot of students apply for this one. This is based on your grades, financial capacity (joint income of parents) and other factors. You can call their office for further inquiries. In the whole of dlshsi, 23% of the student population are scholars. :) in my batch of 300, around 100-120 i think were scholars. For the ones who applied and got accepted, not sure since they dont announce stuff like that. The scholarships are available from 1st year to 4th year. I was an academic scholar from my 1st year up to the present. :) you just need to maintain the grades and not fail any subjects. :) hope everything works out for you! Hope to see you in Medicine!

Thank you for your reply! It means so much. :) Financial Scholarship is also available for first years? Meaning they'll be basing it on your grades during your pre-med? I've read on your other blog posts that you graduated Cum Laude. Are you a graduate of DLSUD/HSI? :) And what was your pre-med course? I've also read that you also applied for Brother President Scholarship. Is it for with Latin honors only? Hehe. Im sorry if I ask too much; too many things bothers me when it comes to Medicine. Haha. :) More power to you, your blog and med student life! :)

    4. yup, all scholarship types are available from 1st year naman. maraming factors meron sa pag assess nila for the scholarship suh as pre med grades, nmat, and basic qualifications such as income.

i graduated cum laude from up manila, behavioral science course ko before. the bpsg is open to all, but very competitive since its 100% with allowance, books, and dorm. 5 classmates got the slot for bpsg.

no prob, om happy tp help out fellow med students and the like. feel free to ask me anytime, but baka late lang ako makareply. hahahaha
