  1. Useful stuff, thanks for posting! This is awesome!!!

Tri-sem din pa sa DLS-HSI pati Med School? Or, is there any light at the end of each tunnel/school year and med students get to have a break? Curious lang so we know what we're getting into.

Hope you don't mind me asking.

Also, under Miscellaneous fees above, what's the Medical/Dental for? Is that for Medical/Dental Insurance? Here in the US, students typically get insurance, kasi. Thought I'd clarify what those fees are for, especially since it's been a while since I've been a student. Tanda ko na! ;-)

    Thank you, as always.

    1. Ola! :)

I thought the same thing too when I started, its a good thing that here in HSI, its not tri-sem. I think my parents would just black out if they had to pay the Php 100k a sem in a tri-sem school O_O

They say that for the first year, unlike other schools (this is just based on what I've heard, and from what my friends in other schools tell me...) , HSI takes care of their students especially in the first year. They actually provide seminars, orientations, and uplifting talks (injected into class discussions, hahaha) about how to adjust to med life. In terms of breaks, yup yup, we still have sem breaks (and I'm relishing every golden moment of it now), Christmas break, summer vacation. :D but this is good up until the 2nd year. By the 3rd year, breaks are shortened down to a week at most,to prepare for the rotations in 4th year.

For the Misc fees, I don't think its insurance, more of medical dental services that you can avail of during the school year. I forgot how many procedures can be done (for example, you can avail of 1 tooth extraction) or you can avail. Will check with the school regarding this. :D

Hahahahaha, dont worry about the being old thing, I started late too. We have classmates here from all walks of life, one classmate of mine is around 40 or so, and his daughter is in 2nd year Med! :))

    2. Wow! Thank you for the reply. Somehow, I did not get notified via email that you had replied to my comment. Thank you so much!!! I appreciate the insight that you've been sharing. And a parent and daughter in med school?! How's that? I was thinking that might happen to us, given that our kids are getting older and growing up so fast.

Again, thank you. "Mahalo", as we say it here in Hawaii.

      Maraming Salamat :)
