UPDATED: Med Books for Sale - ALL SOLD

Hey guys, I'm selling my 1st Year Med Books :)

For the original prices, these are the prices that were sold to me at school, or online.
Moore, I hardly used it this year because I was more comfortable with Snell. Other classmates  used Moore more since it was more detailed and comprehensive when it came to discussions.

If interested, kindly message me here, first come, first serve. :) I can meet you guys up at school if you'd like or I can have them delivered to you via LBC. :)

  4. Hello there. :) i wanna apologize because what i'm gonna ask is so not related to your blog post. i just don't know any other way to contact you privately. :)

i have a few questions and i hope you can answer them all. :)

    1. what time(month) of the year do DLSU open the application for admission to medical school? i'm about to graduate on March 2014 and i really want to get admitted in your school. :)

    2. do i have to personally get the application for from their office? i visited their website and they don't have downloadable forms. although i think it was mentioned in the admission requirement list that an applicant should complete an admission envelope package. so where do i actually get this?

    3. do you know any fellow student who got into your med school even if he has a low GPA/ GWA? i've read in an article that though it plays a big factor, med school committee still looks at a student as a whole package..i mean like, it would also depend on the NMAt score and how the interview turns out. is this true? how true is this in your school? thank you very much. :)

PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE REPLY. :( :'(

    1. Hi Christine! Thanks so much for taking an interest in my blog! :) and itsokie, im always here to help naman, that's what this blog is for. Hahahahaha

Anyways, regarding your questions, most of this, im just getting from memory, you can try double checking with admissions by calling them up:

When i applied, they started accepting as early as december, after the NMAT up until April, just as long as there were available slots. :)
      2. Yes, you personally have to get the application form from the office. You have to pay the processing fee of php 600.00 and php 50.00 for their forms/folders. Just stop by the admissions office so they can give you a slip, you pay for it, you come back to their office to show the receipt, and fill out the forms. Dont forget to bring all your requirements so you can pass it all at the same time. :)

      3. I dont personally know anyone with a low GPA, one, because its kinda hard to even ask them in the first place, and two, i dont think most of us remember that. :))

Well, having good grades is a factor, but in my opinion, the NMAT score matters more. Most of my classmates (the ones that I asked) had really great NMAT scores, and based on their stories from their undergrad, they just did so-so academically (but, i cant tell if understatement lang yun... Hahahahaha)

But, to be on the safe side in applying, it'd be better if your NMAT score was high, as well as your grades. For the interview, chill lang, and be prepared to answer basic questions like, "tell me something about yourself," or "how do you handle stress," etc. when I first applied, the nmat required was 40, and now they changed it to 60. Medyo nagiging competitive na La Salle. :))

Well, hope this helps! Let me know if there's anything else i can help you with. :) if you'd like, you can leave your email here, and i'll message you. :)

  5. Hello again. wow, thank you for answering my questions right away. your answers gave me quite an enlightenment. :)

Really, they've raised the NMAT requirement to 60 now? wow, guess i'd better start studying for NMAT ngayon pa lang to gain that percentage. haha!

hmmh, do you mind if i ask you what year are you now? I've been reading your past blog posts and all of them are really, really, really helpful. i'm a BIG fan. :)

it's also a good thing that you always include photos of what you're telling us about. saw the pictures of the facilities, the dormitories, curriculum, tuition lahat!..nakakatuwa. halos lahat ng pwede itanong ng isang aspiring applicant nandito na...the environment pa seems so conducive for learning..nakaka-excite tuloy mag med jan.

nga pala,sa UE ba ganon din ang start ng application nila, December? tska um, may math pa din ba sa med school? :)
if meron, ano namang klase? tipong mala-Calculus math ba? :/

my email address pala is christinepadiernos@yahoo.com :)
dun ko nalang ichechek reply mo.. :)
thank you ulit. looking forward to your response.

  6. Hi! =) I'm Gizel, an incoming first year med student at DLSHSI starting this June(clashing mixed emotions >.< x) ^___^ ). I would like to ask which among the books are already bought and which are still available for purchase =) I'm quite interested (especially after reading your post about their price and all ----- w/c basically blew my mind and will...(most probably) murder my parents' pockets very soon--& I wouldn't want that to happen, since after my enrollment they've already gone through so much crappy stages of grief)--- & that includes me too... but hey, I'm also doing my best to download as much relevant ebook as I can to magically turn a heavy-weight into a feather-weight =p

Sorry if I said too much, but I just want to say that your blog is. . . BY FAR. . . The most helpful blog I've ever read! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Esp for all of your advice. . .^^ THANK U!!!!

    Gizel

    1. Hi Gizel, thanks so much for following my blog! :) Im really glad that this blog helped you out with everything.

For the books, sorry but all of them are sold already. Try looking up the classified ads section in Pinoy.md for second hand books (a lot of them are older versions, but still pretty reliable, cheaper too!).

You can also download ebooks and borrow from the library. Since we're med students, we can borrow books longer than most other students. We can borrow 3-5 books at a time for 2-3 weeks and longer. :)

Also, you can order a set of past transcriptions/ past evaluations that are a huge help in most subjects. You can get these at Rejoice, a photocopy center near the school.

You guys (Batch 2017) already have a Facebook group, add yourself there, and some students are also selling their books there. :)

Wish you all the best Gizel!
